About this project

Jev is TypeSafe's System One decision model. It answers a question in roughly 70 to 500 ms with a typed answer and a confidence score. This repo connects Jev to coding agents so they can ask it which skill to load, which tools a step needs, and how to move in the browser. For the reasoning behind the design, including where Jev wins and where it loses, see When Jev wins. This project is fully experimental. Do not use it in important or production-grade projects.

Quoted from the project's README. Read the full README.

Highlights

  • Routes one skill per message, a small tool subset per step, and each browser operation.
  • Uses one shared decision contract across four harnesses instead of per-agent prompts.
  • Fails open on timeout, error, malformed, or low-confidence answers without blocking calls.
  • Exposes thresholds, budgets, observe logging, and a disabled-by-default verification hint.

Watch out

Skill and browser figures come from the listed small runs, and conversation tails plus tool catalogs are sent to the Decisions endpoint on every dispatch. Copy reviewed against the repository README on 2026-10-04, not from running it.
