Jev Packs

About this project

Questions-as-data for Jev-compatible decision endpoints: curated question sets, golden cases, pinned model versions, measured evidence — and an independent benchmark (Jev Bench) scoring several backends on the same ground truth. A pack is a folder: questions in pack.yaml, labeled cases in cases.jsonl, and — once measured — an evidence.md produced by jevassert, the record/replay test runner for Jev. Any Jev-compatible client can load a pack; the canonical loader is jevassert.packs.

Quoted from the project's README. Read the full README.

Highlights

  • Every pack carries quality gates derived from recorded evidence: an accuracy CI floor, an ECE ceiling, cost and p95 latency caps.
  • Raw predictions are committed, so `uvx jevassert check` replays each number offline for free and deterministically.
  • The spec mandates an `unknown` label on every Choice and Score because Jev cannot abstain, and CI enforces it.
  • A pack only counts as `verified` once accuracy, ECE, cost and latency have been recorded on a pinned Jev version.

Watch out

The per-pack metrics are single-run measurements over each pack's golden cases against one pinned model version, not repeated trials, and they say nothing about your domain. Dataset-derived packs keep their upstream licenses, with SMS Spam and Banking77 under CC BY 4.0 and BoolQ under CC BY-SA 3.0, and raw source data is never committed so you cannot retrain on it from here. The scoreboard is generated from `results/` and CI fails when it goes stale. Gates are derived from committed evidence rather than hand-tuned, so they move only when a re-record moves the baseline, and the README's instruction is to treat a gate failure as a regression to explain rather than a number to lower. There is no hosted registry or API, and no CLI of its own. Copy reviewed against the repository README on 2026-10-04, not from running it.
