TypeSafe Arena

A local markdown mirror of the TypeSafe documentation plus Lume, a Rust search tool that indexes it with BM25 and a tag graph, so pattern-style queries such as intent routing can walk to the right page without a network round trip.

About this project

Local markdown mirror of docs.typesafe.ai, crawled with grub-crawler on 2026-09-17. Starting page: Intent routing. Lume lives in lume/. It builds a BM25 index plus a semantic knowledge graph from dict/typesafe.csv, then search walks that graph (intent routing → handler, confidence-gated routing, fan-out, …). Run these from the typesafe-arena directory. Verified on 2026-09-17: 46 files, 664 sections, graph search for intent routing ranked docs/patterns/intent-routing.md first.

Quoted from the project's README. Read the full README.

Highlights

  • Lume indexes the mirror into a .lume-index directory using BM25 plus a knowledge graph built from the dict/typesafe.csv tag file.
  • Graph boost is on by default at -g 0.4, -g 0 disables it, and -l raises the number of hits returned.
  • Dense vectors and Ollama-based entity extraction are opt-in extras, not required for lexical and graph search.
  • Verified at 46 files and 664 sections, with a graph search for intent routing ranking the intent-routing page first.

Watch out

This is a crawl of docs.typesafe.ai rather than the live site, so it is a copy that can fall behind upstream changes; the README links back to the official llms.txt index for the current version. Building the search tool needs Rust and Cargo 1.75 or newer plus a release build before anything can be indexed, and the index command has to be pointed at the docs directory and the tag dictionary. The optional paths have their own dependencies: -s dense vectors needs a NUTS token and Shivvr, and -o entity extraction needs Ollama, so neither is part of the base setup. The only quantitative check in the README is the file and section count plus that one example query. The repository also ships its own navigation lists for patterns, primitives, concepts, confidence, cookbooks, demos and SDK pages, which duplicates the official documentation structure. Copy reviewed against the repository README on 2026-10-04, not from running it.
