About this project

Ask typed questions with TypeSafe Jev from a Spring MVC application. Add one dependency, set an API key, and inject JevClient. Spring Boot 4.0+ · Java 17+ · Spring MVC · RestClient · Jackson 3. This is an independent community project. Version 0.1.0-SNAPSHOT is a local development version and is not published to Maven Central. First, build and install the starter from this repository: Add it to an existing Spring Boot 4 MVC application:

Quoted from the project's README. Read the full README.

Highlights

  • Activates in servlet apps with no enable annotation, supplies one JevClient, and backs off when you define your own bean.
  • Asks noul, choice, and score questions in one evaluate call, exposing probabilities, confidence, model, and token usage.
  • Reuses your RestClient.Builder and Boot timeout properties; configures api-key, base-url, and model via jev.* properties.
  • Requires building 0.1.0-SNAPSHOT locally with Maven since it is not published to Maven Central, plus a TypeSafe API key.

Watch out

Needs Spring Boot 4 with Java 17+; each evaluation makes one attempt with no automatic retries, and the app decides its own act thresholds. Copy reviewed against the repository README on 2026-10-04, not from running it.
