Jev.mods

A French-language design note for a Minecraft agent: deterministic world code, an LLM strategist called at most twice a minute, and Jev picking among movement primitives each tick while a structured journal holds what neither model remembers.

About this project

Highlights

  • Jev is positioned as reflexes: it chooses among primitives every tick and receives the intent without being told the final goal is the dragon.
  • The strategist LLM is capped at one or two calls a minute, answers in 5-30 seconds, and its decision is re-validated by code on arrival.
  • Neither model keeps memory between calls, so a structured journal records base, village and cave coordinates plus what was attempted and failed.
  • Question sets stay fixed in system code — the LLM only fills parameters from closed value sets — and a mod server supplies real player physics.

Watch out

This is a design document, not a running project: the README describes intent, open questions and a to-do list, and the author states plainly that they are still learning how Jev works and do not know whether it has any global knowledge of Minecraft or its mechanics. No layer described here is shown running, and the choice of LLM is still open between two candidates. The character control also assumes a mod server doing genuine pathfinding and authentic player behaviour, borrowed from Twitch Play and Minecraft Studio rather than implemented, and the layered pyramid of Jev instances is only a thought about future direction. Copy reviewed against the repository README on 2026-10-04, not from running it.
