About this project

DGUI-HyperMem (DeckerGUI HyperMemory) — a self-hosted, hybrid long-term memory MCP server for AI agents, running entirely on Cloudflare Workers. Retrieval fuses vector search with full-text search, then a JEV reasoning layer (Choice / Noul / Score) re-ranks and curates what gets remembered. Stores durable memories — an LLM/JEV layer assigns each memory a type, a salience score and a durability judgement; non-durable chatter is dropped.

Quoted from the project's README. Read the full README.

Highlights

  • Retrieval fuses Vectorize approximate-nearest-neighbour candidates with D1 FTS5 BM25 candidates by reciprocal rank before Jev re-ranks.
  • Near-duplicate and contradicting memories are superseded automatically instead of both staying in the store.
  • Every Jev decision is logged as an instruction row and flushed to a HuggingFace dataset on an hourly cron.
  • JEV_MODE switches between TypeSafe, a Workers AI fallback model and off, so the reasoning layer can be disabled.

Watch out

The reasoning layer is both the point and the egress: when JEV_MODE is auto or typesafe, memory text goes to TypeSafe, and if HF_TOKEN is set the same decisions are queued and appended to a HuggingFace dataset on an hourly cron, which is a data-handling decision to make before deploying rather than after. Setup is not one command — you create a D1 database and a Vectorize index at 768 dimensions with cosine distance, apply migrations, then set secrets. Auth is a single token accepted as a bearer header, an x-api-key header or a ?token= query parameter, so the URL form is the one to watch in logs, and /health answers without authentication. Copy reviewed against the repository README on 2026-10-04, not from running it.
