Claude Model Router

A Claude Code plugin from alexei-led that picks the model and effort tier, micro to high, for each turn, advised by Jev, Cloudflare's Clef family, OpenAI, or a local Ollama classifier. It changes only model and effort, and it never proxies Anthropic traffic.

Highlights

  • The active classifier is asked at the start of each logical turn and again in the background every 4 requests while the turn runs.
  • Classifier options: Jev, Cloudflare Clef (27B), Clef Flash (9B), Clef Omni (30B MoE), OpenAI, or a local Ollama model.
  • Only the active classifier receives prompt text; the README's table maps each option to the service and the credential it needs.
  • Subagent routing is on by default: agents that name no model or say model: inherit get one model at start, and their steps are never re-routed.
  • It changes only the model and effort in Claude Code's turn hook, proxies no Anthropic traffic, and starts no server beyond your own Ollama if chosen.

Watch out

README reviewed 2026-10-17; the digest truncates the classifier table inside the Clef Omni row, so the OpenAI and Ollama rows and any install steps were not available. Jev is one of several classifiers rather than a requirement, and every choice except a local Ollama model sends prompt text to a third-party service.
