About this project

Evaluate writing against separate, named checks with TypeSafe AI's Jev: hedging, em dash overuse, clarity, filler phrases, tone, passive voice, and actionability. Inspect each verdict, confidence signal, and supporting sentence rather than relying on one opaque overall score. This is an independent community project, not an official TypeSafe product. It evaluates supplied writing; it does not generate a rewrite or establish that a passage is factually correct. Contributing · Agent guide · TypeSafe API reference.

Highlights

  • Each enabled check becomes its own typed question, all submitted in one primary batch, with no overall writing score.
  • Default 70% flagging threshold re-evaluates flags locally, so moving it never costs another model call.
  • A public demo at judge.jev.works carries no server key, so every visitor sees results labeled as demo mode.
  • Uncertain and malformed answers are distinguished as Pass or Issue at low confidence, and as Needs review.

Watch out

Judging runs against simulated results unless you bring your own key, which is held in browser localStorage and sent only to the app's own /api/judge endpoint. The project states it does not generate a rewrite or establish that a passage is factually correct, and its checks are editable preferences rather than universal rules. The zero-violation axe-core report is called a floor, not a guarantee. Copy reviewed against the repository README on 2026-10-04, not from running it.
