Highlights
- Runs fully locally as a single Node server with zero dependencies on Node 18 or newer
- One Brave site: query per platform covers 29 ATS job boards, including Greenhouse, Lever and Workday
- Jev grades every match 0 to 4 on rel, job, loc and live axes across a snippet pass and a verify pass
- Counts are cached 24 hours per query and platform, so repeat searches are instant
- Without a TypeSafe key it still produces all platform links and raw page counts
Questions about this entry
Short answers drawn from the linked project or page.
BRAVE_API_KEY powers the platform counts and uses Brave's free tier of 2,000 queries per month. TYPESAFE_API_KEY enables AI grading and is optional; without it you still get all platform links and raw page counts.
Two passes. A snippet pass sends one batched call per platform grading rel (keyword relevance) and job (is this an individual open posting). Expanding a row triggers a verify pass that fetches the posting page and grades loc and live.
Only the search queries sent to Brave and TypeSafe. The tool otherwise runs 100% locally, and grading inputs consist of your keywords, location and the search results or posting page text.
The free tier gives 2,000 queries per month, at roughly 1 to 3 per platform per uncached search. Across 29 platforms that works out to about 30 to 90 calls, or 30 to 60 uncached searches per month.
Scores run 0 to 4 per axis and are a signal, not a verdict; run-to-run variance is about 0.3 to 0.5. Keyword and location scores are deliberately separate, and only job scores of 3 or higher count toward the jobs column.
Nothing disappears quietly. Blocked or unreachable postings are labelled with the reason, such as an HTTP code, a timeout, or a bot check. Expired postings are graded gone, and a deterministic gone-check forces live to 0 before Jev is even asked.
