AstroHan's Jev Harness

A minimal coding agent that filters every tool result through Jev before the main model reads it, plus the A/B harness that measured pass@1 and cost. The final TB4 follow-up closed the experiment without an end-to-end win.

This is one of several Jev listings for the same project. The canonical entry is Jev Harness — AntonioCoppe.

Highlights

  • Final TB4 follow-up: 2 vs 5 tasks passed on 49 scored pairs, 11.78% more input tokens, 8.17% more cost.
  • Earlier 30-task prototype: 25/30 pass@1 with Jev on vs 22/30 off, at $0.113 vs $0.127 per passing task.
  • Per-test on DeepSWE the filtered arm was never worse: 6 wins, 0 losses, 3 ties; meriyah ran 49/49 vs 0/49.
  • Filters output in ~2k-char chunks at p > 0.5, replacing drops with a visible elision marker plus the raw path.
  • Raw output always stored under .jev-store/<call_id>.txt and readable via the read tool; Jev failures fail open.

Quickstart

bash
uv run --with matplotlib scripts/plot_results.py

Watch out

Copy reviewed against the repo README on 2026-10-15; the README states the experiment is closed and explicitly warns the TB4 result does not establish that filtering caused the success-rate difference, only that this implementation lacked an end-to-end benefit. The 30-task run is one run per arm, a prototype measurement.
