Agent Fastpath

A plain connector forwards questions and returns answers. This adds presets so agents skip schema writing, instant rules for obvious cases, a confidence gate into review or escalate, server-side triage, and a gated browser.

Failing builds block the ship gate and force-push style commands map to high risk in under a millisecond with no API call. Only ambiguous cases go to Jev, then through the confidence gate.

Without a key the server still runs: deterministic checks work and semantic questions return escalate instead of guessing. Set up per-client config with the install-config command and verify with the doctor command.

Triage reads files on the server inside allowed directories and returns snippets, so full files stay out of agent context. The documented run cut agent reads from tens of thousands of tokens to a few hundred.

Five tools: fastpath_evaluate for typed questions over text with presets such as ship_gate, risk, severity, ambiguity, relevance and verify_claim; fastpath_triage, which ranks up to 500 files and returns short snippets; fastpath_browser for one-step-at-a-time headless navigation; fastpath_evidence to re-explain a past result with its distributions and gate decision; and fastpath_capabilities for the active provider, limits and security settings.

It cannot reach localhost, private networks or cloud metadata endpoints, and every connection including redirects and page scripts goes through a checking proxy. Clicking anything labelled like delete, buy, pay or publish requires allowIrreversible: true. Triage reads only inside directories you allow, and recognized secret formats are redacted before semantic requests and evidence traces. Tool callers can tighten those limits but not loosen them.

Node 20.12 or newer plus a TypeSafe key. For Claude Code, claude mcp add agent-fastpath with npx -y agent-fastpath start; for everything else, npx agent-fastpath install-config with the client name, covering Codex, Cursor, Antigravity, Gemini CLI, OpenCode, VS Code, Cline, Zed, Amp, Pi and a generic option. Playwright chromium is only needed for the browser tool. MIT, and it was previously published as agentctl-fastpath.
