Jev Codex Router Skill

A Codex Skill that hands Jev the task summary plus the host's real model list, so Jev picks a model and reasoning effort for an independent subtask and Codex executes with it.

Portable Codex Skill for Jev model and reasoning-effort routing, with safe installation and Chinese usage guides

Highlights

  • Python standard library only, and the installer copies eight files without touching Hooks or existing model config.
  • The router returns a decision ID, confidence and a local audit record, then checks which model actually ran.
  • If the result is invalid, low confidence or deferred, it stops dispatching and the main agent keeps analysing.
  • Offline regression tests need no API key, and each release ships a .zip.sha256 you can hash and compare.

Watch out

This selects models for independent desktop subtasks. It does not switch the main session model and has no hook that intercepts every message. Per-turn routing on the macOS CLI is a separate upstream install, and the README lists that login and per-turn chain as unverified. If the host cannot accept an explicit model and reasoning effort, the selection is advice only. Each live selection sends the task summary and candidate descriptions to whichever provider you configured, so both can bill you, and the project explicitly promises neither quota savings nor success rates. Copy reviewed against the repository README on 2026-10-04, not from running it.
