Why add Jev when I already use an LLM node?

An LLM node plus parser plus IF node can work, but you must validate free-form text yourself. Jev only returns options you defined, answers all questions in one request in parallel, charges input tokens only with free output, and exposes calibrated per-option probabilities for routing unsure items to a person.

Will it write summaries or handle images?

No. Jev cannot write, summarize, or explain, and it reads text only, so images, audio, or files must become text first. Keep a generative model for prose, use Code or IF nodes for arithmetic and dates, and split multi-step reasoning into smaller questions.

How do I keep thresholds and cost under control?

Put several questions in one request because the node always sends them together, and keep thresholds in your workflow Code or IF nodes where they stay visible. Route by Choice also gives each option its own output plus a separate low-confidence output.

What if a model upgrade shifts my tuned cutoffs?

Pin a version ID such as a fixed release instead of an alias like jev-latest. Aliases move to new releases and answers can shift slightly, which matters once thresholds are tuned, and saving the credential already runs a test models request.

How do I install it, and is it available on n8n Cloud?

On self-hosted n8n, open Settings, then Community Nodes, then Install, and enter n8n-nodes-jev. n8n Cloud only lists community nodes that n8n has verified, so the self-hosted install is the documented path.

Who maintains the node, and under what license?

It is a helper community node maintained by Brains of Bots, not made or supported by TypeSafe, and it is MIT-licensed. Report node problems in the repository's issues, and take account, key, billing or model questions to TypeSafe.

How fast is a request, and does batching questions save money?

TypeSafe says most requests finish in about 100 ms, and the node charges input tokens only at $0.042 per million with free output, against gpt-5.4-mini at $0.75 input and $4.50 output. One TypeSafe benchmark put 13 questions about a document at 0.27 s and $0.0005 in a single request versus 2.71 s and $0.0061 as 13 requests.
