This is one of several Jev listings for the same project. The canonical entry is Jev Lm — y0usaf.
A character-level language model built out of a classifier. Jev is a System One model from TypeSafe: it picks one option from a defined set and returns a calibrated probability over it — the same shape as a character-level softmax. So the vocabulary becomes 28 Choice options (a-z, space, stopping) and generation is the ordinary autoregressive loop. Run it bare for a session:

Watch out
Every step costs at least one hosted call, and beam search multiplies that. The README's own arms on a three-seed prompt show greedy at 8, 8 and 4 requests against 25, 25 and 21 for beam width 3. Decoding is greedy with no temperature, on the stated grounds that a character-level answer cannot recover from a wrong character, so there is no sampling knob. Nothing here is a general-purpose text generator, and the published results are three seeds on one prompt. Copy reviewed against the repository README on 2026-10-04, not from running it.
