About this project

A Jev-style /v1/systemone API in front of any OpenAI-compatible LLM server. TypeSafe AI's Jev is a "System One" model: you send it a piece of state plus typed questions, and it returns typed answers with probabilities — no generated prose. Jev itself is a closed, hosted model. jev-bridge reproduces its API surface and decision semantics on top of any OpenAI-compatible backend (SGLang, vLLM, llama.cpp, LMDeploy, TGI, …) by reading the model's next-token distribution for the answer labels instead of generating JSON.

Quoted from the project's README. Read the full README.

Highlights

  • Shared byte prefix across questions lets SGLang radix cache and vLLM prefix caching reuse the state prefill.
  • Single-token labels with max_tokens one plus logprobs feed a restricted softmax summing to one over declared options.
  • Default linear confidence maps uniform to zero and one-hot to one, matching published Jev example values.
  • Backend, model, concurrency, temperature, and thinking controls come from JEVB environment variables.

Watch out

Confidence here is a distribution-shape statistic, not RLCD-calibrated confidence, so thresholds drift; dict key reordering changes the cached prefix. Copy reviewed against the repository README on 2026-10-04, not from running it.

The request shape barely changes across surfaces; the surrounding contract does. When to call the API directly and when a gateway, a Worker binding, or a router entry earns its extra hop.
