About this project

Give Jev a language. Connect its choices to a world. Watch what happens. Jev One is a JavaScript library for building stateful applications around TypeSafe AI's Jev, a model that answers by pointing to choices you supply. A choice can mean a word, a place, an object, a tool, another vocabulary, or a request to stop. Your code gives that choice its effect. The runtime carries the observation into the next decision, until an objective is verified or a limit is reached.

Quoted from the project's README. Read the full README.

Highlights

  • Vocabularies bind IDs to labels, meanings, and payloads; include uncertainty so forced choices do not mislead.
  • Courier loop rebuilds legal actions from actual state each turn and verifies delivery before reporting done.
  • Read-only file agent navigates numbered boards with backtracking and returns only paths verified to still exist.
  • Live use runs through the Vercel AI Gateway with a server-side key and no offline or heuristic fallback.

Watch out

Experimental library with live Gateway calls only; keep credentials server-side and never in browser code or logs. Copy reviewed against the repository README on 2026-10-04, not from running it.

The request shape barely changes across surfaces; the surrounding contract does. When to call the API directly and when a gateway, a Worker binding, or a router entry earns its extra hop.
