ConsoleChaosRacing driven by Jev

Highlights
- Driving decisions come from a typesafe system_one call reached through a Python API, with a display UI added on top of the existing game.
- The model deliberately stalls to buy thinking time, and the author credits that technique to Opus 5, which did the wiring.
- Reported totals are 14.31M tokens, 12M of them input, across 8,753 requests for $0.51, and the session ended on Opus's rate limit.
- A human-built reference lap came first, which the author notes is only a fair comparison because the course is fixed.
Watch out
This is a single build-log post in Japanese and nothing operational is published with it. Not documented: any repository or gist, the prompt, how model output is mapped to steering and throttle, which typesafe endpoint or model version was called, what the display UI shows, and whether the setup still runs. The behavioural detail about stalling to buy thinking time is attributed to the wiring done by Opus rather than to the model, so it is a property of the agent loop rather than a Jev behaviour you can expect. The token, request and dollar figures are cumulative for one session, so they price a control loop built around long thinking and are not a per-decision cost. There is no outcome measurement at all: no lap time, no completion rate, no crash count and no comparison of the Jev-driven run against the human reference, which the author himself limits by noting the course is fixed. Speed is described only as impressive, with no latency figure. Copy reviewed against the linked page on 2026-10-04.
