Jevr — simxnherrera

An R client for JEV and TypeSafe System One: it sends a state and a set of typed questions to a model and returns structured answers usable directly in R, with support for multiple questions in one evaluation, probabilities, confidence, usage and provider metadata.

Install the development version from GitHub with install.packages("pak") then pak::pak("simxnherrera/jevr"). The README says that once jevr is available on CRAN, the stable version will install with install.packages("jevr").

Three. jev_choice selects one option from a named set and returns the choice, per-option probabilities and confidence; jev_score places the state on an ordered scale of two to ten levels; jev_noul estimates how strongly a statement is true as a 0-to-1 value, which is never converted to TRUE or FALSE.

Set TYPESAFE_API_KEY for direct TypeSafe requests or OPENROUTER_API_KEY for OpenRouter in your .Renviron file, edited with usethis::edit_r_environ(). Keys are read when jev_ask() is called and are not included in returned objects.

jev_ask(state, questions) represents one evaluation of one state. For a collection of states, jev_map(states, questions) evaluates each state independently with bounded HTTP concurrency - it is explicitly not model-level batching of multiple records into one state or one request.

A character string, a named list representing a JSON object, or an unnamed list representing a JSON array. The names in questions become the IDs in result$answers, so several questions can travel in one request without losing the mapping between each question and its answer.

Not yet at the time of writing: the README documents the development version through pak and mentions a future CRAN release. The package is listed in cobanov's awesome-jev collection, its README is generated from README.Rmd, and GitHub records the license as NOASSERTION.
