Human vs JEV · Table Tennis

A table-tennis game where every paddle movement on the right is a live Jev decision: the relay renders the state as prose, asks one multiple-choice question, and the option label IS the pixel value. No local prediction, no fallback.

Highlights

  • One HTML canvas file plus a small Python relay; there are no dependencies and no build step. You play on the left with a mouse while Jev plays on the right.
  • Numbers are rejected (type "number" and "numeric" return 400 Invalid request), so multiple-choice options are the only channel; the label IS the pixel value.
  • Finer options are worse: 7 bands scored 6/10, while 40 narrow bands dropped to 0/10 — so the 7 in placements_of() is a measured value, not a guess.
  • Jev owns the landing position, where to wait and the serve arc; physics, collisions, scoring and rendering are local, and moving the paddle is four lines.
  • The ball-speed cap is a fixed constant, never derived from measured latency, so the conditions cannot be moved by the thing under test.

Watch out

Copy reviewed against the truncated README on 2026-10-15; the quick start cuts off mid-URL and no result tables beyond the band-count comparison are included. The 6/10 and 0/10 band scores are the author's own measurements.
