Jev Remix Cutter

An independent agent skill and Python CLI for local video remixing: shot-aware slots for beats and original narration are filled under Jev judgments and constrained orchestration, then rendered into a reviewable cut with originality and asset-license reports.

Highlights

  • Agent skill plus Python CLI for local remixing: shot-aware slots, Jev judgments, constrained orchestration and a reviewable cut with originality reports.
  • Version 0.1.0 pins jev-1.13.0 and bundles jevkit 1.0.0; it stays separate from jev-highlight-cutter and imports from it read-only via --from-highlight.
  • Needs Python 3.11+ (3.12 verified) plus FFmpeg and ffprobe with libass and libx264; venv, media and run output stay outside the skill directory.
  • Jev reads the user-global TYPESAFE_API_KEY and doctor only reports present or absent; --key-file is a fallback for when the global variable is missing.
  • One authorized run made real Jev text calls; some responses failed the probability-distribution contract, and mock demos only validate the pipeline.

Quickstart

bash
mkdir -p "$HOME/.local/share/jev-skills"
git clone https://github.com/gnipbao/jev-remix-cutter.git "$HOME/.local/share/jev-skills/jev-remix-cutter"
SKILL="$HOME/.local/share/jev-skills/jev-remix-cutter"
python3.12 -m venv "$HOME/.local/share/jev-remix-cutter/venv"
PY="$HOME/.local/share/jev-remix-cutter/venv/bin/python"
"$PY" -m pip install -e "${SKILL}[core]"
"$PY" "$SKILL/scripts/remix.py" doctor --json

Watch out

README reviewed 2026-10-17; the digest truncates mid-sentence in the first remix tutorial, so the full walkthrough was not captured. The README itself reports that one authorized run made real Jev text calls with some probability-distribution contract failures, image-provider calls never ran for real, and M7/M8 compositing, anonymization, face swap and E4 blind tests remain unfinished.
