Jev Agent Browser — npmjs.com
Command-line tool that gives a parent agent a bounded browser task: Jev picks the next typed action and agent-browser executes it, returning a structured handoff when the page is ambiguous or stuck. Includes a research mode and a Node.js runLoop API.

This is one of several Jev listings for the same project. The canonical entry is Jev Agent Browser — forvela.
Highlights
- Jev chooses the next typed action; the externally installed agent-browser peer tool executes it.
- Reads ~/.config/jev/config.json for decision endpoint, model, pacing, maxSteps, and configured tools.
- Missing goal values return a structured input-required handoff that resumeLoop can continue.
- Secret inputs are redacted from decision state, traces, events, and handoffs.
- Research mode uses profiles that define classification dimensions, keep rules, follow-ups, and allowed tools.
Questions about this entry
Short answers drawn from the linked project or page.
Install the peer tool and the CLI globally with npm install -g agent-browser and npm install -g jev-agent-browser, export TYPESAFE_API_KEY, then run jev with --url, --goal, and --max-steps. You can also run it without a global install via npx --package jev-agent-browser jev --help.
No. agent-browser is an external peer tool that executes actions, while this package owns the decision loop and research tools. Jev does not bundle an LLM, does not infer URLs from raw goals, and does not use regex prompt parsing.
Keys stay in environment variables and are never part of the browser page or decision state. Secret inputs are redacted from decision state, traces, events, and handoffs. The config file holds routing defaults and names the environment variable, never the secret itself.
The run returns a structured handoff with status input-required instead of guessing. A parent or human can then call resumeLoop with the continuation and the missing inputs, such as a password supplied as a secret input.
Yes. Use --attach --auto-connect --pin-tab to connect to an existing tab, or --attach --cdp 9222 to target a known CDP endpoint. Native agent-browser arguments pass through with repeatable --browser-arg flags.
Running with --mode research and a config file uses profiles that define the classification dimensions, keep rules, follow-ups, and allowed tools, while the core stays domain-neutral. Output can be emitted as JSONL with a summary.
