Jear

Rust client that lets Jev choose the model and privacy tier for NEAR AI Cloud calls. A client-controlled monthly cap in cents is combined with Jev scores for complexity and sensitivity and nouls for private TEE, risk and urgency, then the NEAR catalog is filtered to what survives that choice.

About this project

Jev-routed client for NEAR AI Cloud inference and IronClaw agents. Users never pick a model or agent. jear routes by budget, quality, and sensitivity using Jev (TypeSafe AI System One) for fast, structured decisions. Status: v0.1.0 core routing + wire JSON + HTTP helper — demo offline, live via env keys. Stack: Rust 1.70+ (tested on 1.96.0), serde/serdejson/ureq. License: MIT OR Apache-2.0 — free for everyone.

Quoted from the project's README. Read the full README.

Highlights

  • Jev returns a Choice for the agent, Scores for complexity and sensitivity, and Nouls for private TEE, risk and urgency, each with confidence.
  • NEAR AI Cloud is called through its OpenAI-compatible surface, with three privacy tiers filtering the catalog from TEE-only down to any.
  • The monthly cap is client-controlled in cents, and the CLI prints the route, its reason, the eligible model count and your remaining budget.
  • TEE attestation is verified with a nonce and fails closed in live mode, while function tools are forwarded verbatim rather than rewritten.

Watch out

It is early: the README states status as v0.1.0 covering core routing, wire JSON and an HTTP helper, and describes the per-tenant router-proxy server in docs/SERVER.md as a design that is not built yet. Adding Jev routing on top of NEAR requires both a TypeSafe key and a base URL, and without the base URL the tool deliberately stays on its offline answers. Passing tests prove the offline loop against fixtures, not live TEE enforcement, and a verified attestation depends on the NEAR side returning a valid report. Dual MIT or Apache-2.0. Copy reviewed against the repository README on 2026-10-04, not from running it.
