Questions about this entry
Short answers drawn from the linked project or page.
Small and real. Per the post, calibration ran on 40 labelled commands, 16 yes and 24 no, with 0 failed, and at a 0.50 cut it caught 15 of 16 with zero false alarms. The author also publishes the worst miss, echo-overwrite answered 0.37, which is the honest caveat.
Deliberate. The author opted out because the intended audience is people and local agentic workflows, and argues a good CLI plus a plugin and skills beats the protocol for that case. The post points at shaharia-lab/jev-cli if you want MCP or a per-run cost estimate instead.
The post advertises caching, batching, and deduplication alongside a calibrate command for tuning thresholds and questions against labelled data. Treat that as the reason to re-measure after enabling any of them, since the defaults on cached or deduped calls are not characterised in the thread.
Partly, per the post. Mock data and dry-run modes are available, but real calls need a key for Jev, Jev through OpenRouter, Berget's System One models, or any Jev-compatible API. Install is brew tap or go install, both documented in the thread.
Caching, batching, deduplication, Unix composability, streaming, and a way to calibrate thresholds and questions against labelled data. The author built it after wanting features he could not find in other CLIs.
The author's first Jev toy project used it to lint files, which taught him the importance of calibrating questions to minimise false negatives and positives. He later wanted shell features and built onesie.
The author says development has been very agentic, and it is MIT-licensed, installable with brew install frodi-karlsson/tap/onesie or go install. It works with TypeSafe Jev, Jev via OpenRouter, Berget and any Jev-compatible API.
