Does turning ON hand all Aside browsing over to Jev?

No. ON covers new task instructions and the extension-specific MCP for the selected account, with jev_browser_run delegating selection; it does not intercept every built-in Aside tool.

Will it retry with another model when Jev is unsure?

No. Low confidence, unknown IDs, stale pages, repetition, or no progress all stop the loop without fallback, and errors never silently switch to another model.

Is the speed-duel video proof of faster browsing?

No. Both lanes use the same SDK in a localhost transport test excluding inference, with reuse roughly halving p50 time; browser task speed against the default model was not measured.

What does the candidate compaction rule actually send?

Only the candidates it observed. Jev never invents code, selectors, or input values, so the action space is bounded by what the loop listed before the call rather than by whatever the model would like to type. That is the same contract the computer-use side of the Hermes skills entry uses, and it is what keeps the selection safe to execute.

How is it packaged and licensed?

Source plus installers, not a signed macOS app or a store extension: Python 3.11+, an MCP stdio server, and a Manifest V3 browser extension, MIT licensed. It also has an English and a Korean README, a docs/EXTENSION.md for the extension install, and a docs/VALIDATION.md for what has been verified, which is where the unverified Windows browser integration is flagged.
