Watch out
MIT, but a demo that needs internet for three.js r170 and Google Fonts, a TypeSafe key for decisions, and Python 3.9+ serving port 8777 on 127.0.0.1 only. Without a key the robot keeps its last action and /api/decide returns 503.

Get a TypeSafe API key, copy .env.example to .env and set it, run python3 arena/server.py, then open http://127.0.0.1:8777 and press Play, or add ?demo to run the scripted demo once data loads.
No: the page posts to the local server's /api/decide, and server.py proxies to TypeSafe with a small keep-alive connection pool, so the key never leaves the server.
The page still loads, /api/decide returns 503 with an explanation, the robot keeps its last action, and the HUD shows jev offline; a health endpoint reports whether a key is configured.
Toxic waste first teaches avoidance through PPL1 punishment dopamine, honey teaches feeding through PAM reward dopamine, then toxic waste is avoided, honey off to the side is sought, and a barrier is met twice with a strengthened takeoff pathway.
While dopamine is present, gains of Kenyon cells active for the smelled odor are multiplied by exp(-0.38 * dopamine * concentration * dt), relaxing toward 1 on a 420-second constant, and Jev sees only aversive, attractive, or unknown.
arena/data/ is committed prebuilt; the roughly 560 MB MaleCNS download is only needed to rebuild it, and the page needs internet for three.js r170 from jsDelivr and Google Fonts.
