Fake / Real (made with Jev)

The production code behind fake-real.live, published so its Jev integration can be read and run: Firecrawl fetches a page, Gemini extracts up to five atomic claims, Tavily searches, and Jev decides which sources to read and whether each claim is supported, contradicted or unknown.

Highlights

  • The full Fake / Real application is closed source; this repo publishes the production Jev client and claim check so the integration can be read and run.
  • Jev decides which Tavily results are worth reading (batched noul questions) and labels each claim supported, contradicted or unknown (one choice each).
  • Evidence policy: 0.8 counts as evidence, the TypeSafe citation-check cookbook default; 0.7 to 0.8 is shown as likely and never counted.
  • The client pins jev-1.13.0, retries only on 429, 503, 529 or network errors within the caller's time budget, and scrubs credentials from errors.
  • Node 20 or newer and no dependencies: TYPESAFE_API_KEY=your-key node examples/check-claim.mjs sends one sample claim.

Quickstart

bash
TYPESAFE_API_KEY=your-key node examples/check-claim.mjs

Watch out

Grounded on the full repo README and GitHub metadata read on 2026-10-15. The live site is closed source, so this entry covers only the published client, claim check and evidence policy; the walkthrough video's live scan ended without a verdict (its credit was returned), and the coffee reports in it are labelled saved examples with their original analysis times.
