About this project

A software Turing–Welchman Bombe that breaks real Enigma traffic, with a probabilistic analyst deciding what counts as German.

Quoted from the project's README. Read the full README.

Highlights

  • Three routes: a 3D machine, a research paper with live figures, and a Jev performance study versus n-gram judges and XGBoost.
  • Hosted break flow runs crib dragging, a Bombe worker pool, and Jev verdicts; Research and Jev pages need no API key.
  • MIT. Bun 1.3+. TypeSafe key is checked once and stored in an encrypted HttpOnly session cookie on the machine page.

Watch out

Independent project. Breaking a message can take up to 300 seconds on Vercel; historical keys come from published cryptanalysis sources.
