Highlights
- Marks chapter boundaries from overlapping transcript windows instead of one long generation.
- Classifies each window as content, sponsor, or housekeeping so the assembler can drop runs.
- Enforces a minimum chapter spacing and a confidence floor in code, not in the model.
- Reports boundary agreement against ten hand-labelled episodes and names its weak windows.
Watch out
It labels and assembles chapters rather than writing summaries; music intros and heavy cross-talk are the weakest cases in the published sample, so review before publishing.
Questions about this entry
Short answers drawn from the linked project or page.
Given a transcript window, it decides the topic of the segment, whether a chapter boundary falls here, and how confident it is, so chaptering runs as a series of small local judgments rather than one long generation.
It does not write prose. It labels windows and marks boundaries that code then assembles, which keeps the chapter titles consistent and makes the timing reproducible instead of regenerated per run.
Windows overlap by one turn, and a boundary is only accepted on a Noul above the floor and at least N windows past the last accepted one, both enforced in code rather than trusted to the model.
A separate Choice classifies window intent as content, sponsor, or housekeeping, so the assembler can drop or merge the non-content runs without a second pass.
It evaluates against a hand-labelled set of ten episodes and reports boundary agreement, and it is candid that music intros and cross-talk are the weakest windows in the sample.
Python 3.12, a TypeSafe key, and a transcript with turn timestamps. It accepts Whisper or Deepgram JSON and writes chapters as a plain track list.
