A small hands-on project exploring Jev, TypeSafe AI's fast structured-decision model. Builds a support ticket router that compares Jev's single-pass probabilistic classification (typed choice/score output) against a traditional LLM's token-by-token generation — to understand why Jev is dramatically faster for classification and routing tasks.

About this project

Jev is a model from TypeSafe AI (released mid-September 2026) engineered for fast, structured decisions rather than text generation. Single-pass execution: Instead of generating tokens one at a time like an LLM, Jev executes in a single pass and returns a typed choice/score along with probabilities. High-speed classification: Dramatically faster and more cost-efficient for classification-style workflows (e.g., ticket routing, triage, intent classification).

Quoted from the project's README. Read the full README.

Highlights

  • Explains single-pass execution returning typed choice/score with probabilities, no token-by-token decoding.
  • Ticket example sends Billing vs Technical and gets 0.94 vs 0.06, picking top or escalating unsure cases.
  • Labels vendor-reported ~100x speedup as unverified and marks repo as a learning log with more to come.

Watch out

Introductory notes only, not a client or benchmark; speedup figures are vendor-reported and unverified. Copy reviewed against the repository README on 2026-10-04, not from running it.
