Jev Switch

A Jev-protocol model gateway: a Rust and axum daemon turns an editable routing DAG into the actual call path, with a React console, a Tauri desktop shell and a Docker image.

Highlights

  • Call routing is an editable DAG with multi-hop, branching, candidate priority and failure handling, not just a direct connection.
  • Dual mode: local listens on loopback and skips call tokens, cloud listens publicly and requires one with a separate admin session.
  • Built-in upstream adapters for Vercel, Laya, TypeSafe SystemOne and OpenRouter; the gateway loads no model weights.
  • Upstream keys stay in the daemon, and the admin API returns masked status with no plaintext read-back.

Watch out

This is a Jev gateway, not an OpenAI- or Anthropic-compatible public entry, and only the four built-in adapters are supported even though TypeSafe can also point at a local service speaking the same request and response shape. Local mode does not mean offline: every request is forwarded to whichever upstream the entry selected, so data can still leave the machine, and a cloud deployment puts it through the gateway's own server. Configuration is imported from TOML on first start and then owned by the SQLite database, so an external edit needs an explicit import rather than being picked up. The playground compares entries, direct upstream models or mixed targets and reports the real path, latency, usage and errors, but the feature list describes 0.7.x while the acceptance section still names 0.6.3 as the latest public release, and a fair amount is explicitly marked as still awaiting manual acceptance on desktop, Android and OpenRouter. Copy reviewed against the repository README on 2026-10-04, not from running it.
