Jev Filter

jev-filter is a CLI that filters tool output before it reaches your agent and, since 0.3, drives web pages and desktop apps too. Jev picks the next operation and its target among controls the program enumerates itself; the program re-checks and executes, and irreversible steps stop for confirmation.

About this project

简体中文 · Quick start · Documentation · Agent setup · Benchmarks · Releases. Give your agent the signal. Keep the evidence. Jev Filter turns large tool outputs into compact, typed decisions before they enter your agent's context. Commands, code, logs and page records stay inside the program; your agent receives relevant evidence and the IDs that need its attention.

Highlights

  • Jev never emits selectors, coordinates, commands or text. It chooses among program-enumerated controls, and the program re-checks the target before acting.
  • browse and desktop print one JSON packet; only status: done with exit 0 counts as success, and irreversible actions return needs_confirmation with a token.
  • extract turns a table into header-labelled rows and returns selected_ids alongside review_ids, so unresolved records stay visible instead of silently dropping.
  • survey labels thousands of JSONL records with choice, score and noul questions and reports crosstabs, uncertain IDs, usage and cost without writing prose.

Watch out

This is a large surface for one package: context filtering, browser automation over CDP, Windows UI Automation with OCR, and bulk record survey. Exit codes are strict, since extract and survey only exit 0 when the result is ok and complete, and a command that cannot start prints nothing on stdout. Every published number is the author's own: an 88 to 97% tool-context reduction over 48 runs, 56.5% fewer input tokens and 32.4% faster on a public benchmark, and a 2,000-ticket survey the README itself calls easy by construction and says to re-measure with --labels. The savings dashboard reports input-equivalent estimates, not invoice savings. Desktop mode refuses terminals, password managers and system settings, which is a blocklist rather than a sandbox. Copy reviewed against the repository README on 2026-10-04, not from running it.

Most Jev accuracy problems are state problems. What belongs in a state, what is a pre-made judgment to leave out, and why naming the slice you ask about matters more than the wording.
