TLDR: Jev-Score enables Claude to optimize writing in a loop against a deterministic evaluator (TypeSafe's Jev model) paired with natural language writing objectives.

Watch out
The README's self-evaluation covers earlier versions of the project, not the current one: it scores nine drafts of the README over 12 questions, and the author states the 2.0 install, first-score, agent-loop, app and MCP sections were never re-scored. The 1.2-point lead over the previous README is presented by the author as a modest edge, because Jev is probabilistic and the ranges across six runs each barely cleared each other. Screenshots in the README use a demo database with simulated scores. Default ranking mode is max, which rewards one lucky run; median mode ranks by the middle run instead. Runs scored against an older context are kept but marked stale, and rankings count only runs against the current version. A reworded sentence moves scores by less than run-to-run variation, so single small edits are not worth scoring. Model access is routed through OpenRouter, with typesafe/jev-1.13 as the default. Copy reviewed against the repository README on 2026-10-04, not from running it.
