About this project

Semantic GitHub pull request labeling with Jev, TypeSafe's typed decision model, through OpenRouter's Decisions API. Size means conceptual scope, not lines changed. A small protocol change can have broader scope than a large mechanical rename. The initial taxonomy matches Jcode. It lives in jevlabeler/taxonomy.py and can be adapted in a fork. The model can select only these labels, never invent names. Requires Python 3.11+, no runtime packages. Run from this repository:

Highlights

  • Size means conceptual scope, from XS trivial fix to XL redesign, never line counts.
  • Small diffs use one typed request; larger diffs are partitioned then reduced with abstention.
  • Action runs only after a current-head Greptile review, with no daemon to host.
  • Missing-label creation preserves colors, and security labels are never auto-removed.

Watch out

PR text and patches are sent to OpenRouter/TypeSafe, and GitHub label writes are best-effort with no atomic compare-and-swap. Copy reviewed against the repository README on 2026-10-04, not from running it.

The request shape barely changes across surfaces; the surrounding contract does. When to call the API directly and when a gateway, a Worker binding, or a router entry earns its extra hop.
